The album sleeve for U2’s “Achtung Baby” is a squared montage of 16 images taken by the band’s long-time photographer, Anton Corbijn, He devised the album cover because the band couldn’t decide on one single image to use for the cover. One of the 16 photos caused a bit of controversy upon the albums release.
The photo in question shows bass player Adam Clayton naked. The nude photo of Clayton was placed on the rear cover of the record.
Here’s a close-up of Clayton in all his glory.
On the U.S. CD and cassette sleeves, Clayton’s private parts were censored with a black “X” or a four-leaf clover but the vinyl edition featured the photo uncensored.
Bono has called this album cover his favorite of all U2 album covers.
Well, he´s hung, alright *wink*
his willy is crooked.
