The Rolling Stones band logo – forever synonymous with the band – was designed by art student John Pasche in 1970, after the band became frustrated by designs provided by their label Decca. Mick Jagger reportedly approached the Royal College of Art in 1969 looking to commission images for the band.

It’s amazing that most people do not know that when Jim Morrison sings Mr. Mojo Risin on “L.A. Woman” that he is using an anagram for his own name Jim Morrison.
The Dinner Key Auditorium in Coconut Grove Miami, Florida was the site of The Doors’ infamous March 1, 1969 concert where Jim Morrison may or may not have exposed himself. The historic building is still standing and is known as the Coconut Grove Exhibition Center.
In the book U2 by U2, The Edge talks about the early stages of writing the songs that would become “The Joshua Tree” . In this passage he talks about a “dreadful” song that never saw the light of day called “Womanfish”.
“Presence” is the seventh studio album by Led Zeppelin, released by Swan Song Records on March 31, 1976. The cover, inside sleeve and back of the album features various images of people with a black obelisk-shaped object.
The cover photo for The Who’s “Who’s Next” album shows a photograph of the band apparently having just urinated on a large concrete piling protruding from a slag heap. The photo was taken at Easington Colliery a former coal mining town in County Durham, England.
“Be Here Now” the third studio album by Oasis was released in August 1997. The release date in each region was commemorated on the calendar pictured on the cover sleeve and on the back cover of the CD booklet. By dating the album they felt it would encourage fans to believe that buying a copy on the day it appeared was to participate in some kind of historical event.
