Kurt Cobain married Courtney Love on March 24, 1992 on a cliff overlooking Waikiki Beach on the island of O’aho in Hawaii.  

After flying in from Japan, Nirvana was in town to play two-sold out shows in Honolulu on February 21 & 22.  Here’s one of the last photo’s of a single Kurt Cobain on February 22, 1994 at Pink’s Garage in Hawaii two days before tying the knot.

For their sunset wedding, Kurt wore his pajamas with a woven Guatemalan purse while Courtney wore an old dress that once belonged to Seattle actress Frances Farmer.  

There were only eight people in attendance (no family members) as Kurt did not want a big ceremony.  His best friend Krist Novoselic and his wife Shelli did not come to the ceremony because Krist thought Kurt was still using heroin heavily and because he thought Courtney had a bad influence on him.  Dave Grohl did come to the wedding and even poised for this awkward photo holding the bride’s hand.

Sadly, the Cobain’s would only be married for a little over two years before he died on April 8, 1994.  In 2006, their daughter Frances Bean Cobain wore her Father’s wedding day pajama’s for these photos that were featured in Elle Magazine.
