Joe Dallesandro “Warhol Superstar” Was Cover Boy For The Rolling Stones & The Smiths

Joe Dallesandro is famous for being one of the “Warhol Superstars” (a clique of New York City personalities promoted by artist Andy Warhol in the 1960’s & 70’s).  He is considered to be the most famous male sex symbol of American underground films and also a sex symbol of the gay subculture.

Dallesandro has also graced the cover of two significant record albums without ever being in the bands.  First, his crotch was featured on the album cover of The Rolling Stones 1971 album “Sticky Fingers“.
