Flea performed “Smells Like Teen Spirit” live with Nirvana on January 23, 1993 at the Hollywood Rock Festival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Flea actually played Trumpet with Nirvana a week earlier on January 16, 1993 at The Hollywood Rock Festival in São Paulo, Brazil. A complete video of this concert has yet to surface but it is considered Nirvana’s worst show ever. It was so bad that many of the people left during the show. This clip below shows Flea leaving the stage after “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and also shows Nirvana playing “Season In The Sun“, with Kurt playing drums, Krist Novoselic playing guitar and Dave Grohl on bass.
