If I was able to morph into an 80’s Pop Superhero I would be riding Prince’s “Purple Rain” motorcycle, wearing Michael Jackson’s white glove and I’d be dressed in George Michael’s jeans, boots, aviator shades & leather jacket get from the “Faith” video.
As always here on feelnumb.com, we want to know some of the details about the infamous “Faith” outfit. Let’s start with the leather jacket. The back of the jacket says “Rockers Revenge” and the letters BSA.
The jacket was purchased at a shop in Melrose called “Leathers and Treasures”, George added hanging pearls to the left shoulder of the jacket. Here’s a photo of another BSA (Birmingham Small Arms Company) jacket (not the actual one).
As for the guitar, that was purchased at a pawn shop very close to where the famous jacket was purchased. It is a Gretsch G400 Synchromatic Arch Top with the pick guard removed.
I hope Michael saved these important artifacts of pop music history. He is an avid collector of music memorabilia as he once paid 2.1 million dollars for a basic piano John Lennon used to write and record “Imagine“.
