Eddie Vedder Stage Dives Were “Death Defying”

Eddie Vedder has made some of the best stage dives early in his career.  This dive Vedder took below was one of his best…it came during the song “Porch” with Pearl Jam at the Pinkpop Festival in Landgraaf, Netherlands on June 8, 1992.

Eddie Vedder’s Sticker On His Vintage Fender Esquire Guitar

Eddie Vedder must have received a pack of stickers from Obey that he used on his guitars.  We did a previous post about Eddie Vedder’s Vintage Martin Acoustic With Sticker. It ended up being an Obey sticker.

Now we found another Vedder guitar with an Obey sticker. This time is is on his vintage “Fender Esquire.”

Eddie Vedder’s Jumping Point In Pearl Jam’s “Evenflow” Video

On January 17th, Pearl Jam performed at the Moore Theater in Seattle. The show was videotaped by Director Josh Taft and the footage was used for the ‘Even Flow‘ video.

pearl-jam-evenflow_video_eddie_vedder_jumpeddie_vedder_balcony_evenflow_moore_theatre_pearl_jam_jump

The video shows Eddie Vedder climbing the theatre, and then jumping down between fans at the concert.  At one point during the show, Vedder had even stopped the proceedings, clearly of the opinion that Taft’s presence was intrusive. “This is not a TV studio, Josh” he’d yelled indignantly, in an interlude that Taft left in his final cut but that MTV clipped out of most versions it aired. “Turn those lights out, it’s a fucking rock concert!”

Here’s a photo’s of the ledge at The Moore Theatre where Vedder took the leap..

The footage used in the video is actually spliced from different songs: for instance Stone Gossard and Mike McCready each play two different guitars, Vedder wears a hat at some point and the theatre climb actually occurred during “Porch“.  The alternate studio recording of “Even Flow“, which was recorded in 1992 with Dave Abbruzzese on drums, was used for the video instead of the album version as the band felt it synched up well with the live footage.  The video was released in April 1992.

Haunted: The Rave/Eagles Ballroom In Milwaukee, Wisconsin

The Rave/Eagles Ballroom

The_rave_eagles_ballroom_haunted_pool_wisconsin

Buddy Holly played one of his last gig on Jan. 23, 1959, at what is now the Rave/Eagles Club, Holly died a week later when his plane crashed after a show in Iowa. While no one knows for sure who is the reported ghost haunting the basement’s swimming pool—many musicians have reported hearing or seeing a presence—it’s nice to imagine it could be Mr. Holly.  In fact, on the upper level is a memorial to him: a pastel portrait, color photos and fliers from the shows in Milwaukee and Iowa.

The pool room (above) in the basement area; (which is said to be kept locked at all times) and The Eagles Ballroom are the most haunted rooms in the building, though paranormal activity has been reported all over the building.  “All the rock stars who have performed here have seen a ghost.” a worker was quoted as saying.  In various rooms of the club, bands have heard a presence or seen an entity watching them play in various rooms of the club, usually during rehearsal, or when not many people are around.

People hear voices coming from places where no one living is there.  Happy sounds of children playing or the distressful noise of children crying unhappily are heard as well.  An entity of a little girl roams around the old hallways behind the coat-check area in the basement.  Her laughter is heard. Her presence sometimes gives the living a brief sense of dread.  Staff who were cleaning up after closing hours have seen entities of children playing in a group.

The Ballroom hosts the most popular acts, and its impressive history includes Bob Dylan (six times), The White Stripes, Green Day, Nine Inch Nails, Kings of Leon, The Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Pearl Jam to name a few….

“The Rave is officially not speculating on that. As far as we know, no rock stars have died here.”

Eddie Vedder’s Blue Duesenberg Mike Campbell Signature TV Guitar

During Pearl Jam’s of “Porch” for the Austin City Limits show, Eddie Vedder plays this blue Duesenberg Mike Campbell (Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers) Signature TV Guitar.  The guitar looks so nice that the crowd starts to cheer for the guitar itself.

After doing a bit of research I’m pretty sure it was a gift to Vedder from Mike Campbell because the guitar started showing up after Pearl Jam toured with Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers a few years back.

Ex-Pearl Jam Drummer Got A Pearl Jam Tattoo Then Got Fired

Almost like having an ex-girlfriends name tattooed on your arm, Dave Abbruzzese was the drummer of Pearl Jam from 1991 to 1994 and got the Pearl Jam stick figure logo tattooed on his arm only to be replaced in August 1994 due to personality conflicts with the band members.

Abbruzzese chose to join Pearl Jam, playing his first show on August 23, 1991.  Initially, he was reluctant to join the band full-time. Then after his second show with Pearl Jam, Abbruzzese went straight down to his local tattoo parlor and had  Jeff Ament’s stick figure drawing from the sleeve of the “Alive” single tattooed onto his left shoulder.

Although Abbruzzese still collects money for the Pearl Jam albums he played on played on, “Vs“. and “Vitalogy” I’m pretty sure that having that tattoo is probably like a bad reminder of an ex.
