Here’s a couple of cool photos on what became a historic day in Oasis history. Liam Gallagher, Gem Archer, Andy Bell arriving at Gare du Nord (aka North Station) to perform that night at the Rock en Siene festival on August 28, 2009. Oasis never played the show and broke up that night as Liam and Noel Gallagher got in a fight before they were to take the stage.

Is it a coincidence that the whole band is in these pictures including touring drummer Chris Sharrock and touring keyboardist Jay Darlington but missing Noel Gallagher.

The Mike Flowers Pops became famous in the UK in 1995 when they released a cover version of Oasis’ hit song” Wonderwall.” Flowers had been recruited by BBC Radio 1 DJ Kevin Greening to cover the ‘Hits of 95′ for Greening’s Saturday show; “Wonderwall” was his first week’s project. Chris Evans heard the song and made it ’single of the week’ on his Radio 1 breakfast show, telling listeners that this was the original version of the song leading people to believe that Noel Gallagher had ripped the song off.
The single, issued by London Records under the name The Mike Flowers Pops, was released while the Oasis original was still in the UK Singles Chart, and itself reached the Top 10. Flowers’ version peaked at number 2 in the Christmas 1995 chart. Oasis had previously refused to let other novelty acts parody the song, but were said to have enjoyed Flowers’ tape so much that they allowed the group to cut it .

Noel Gallagher is a huge fan of football, being a supporter of Manchester City F.C. and Celtic F.C. He is a friend with several footballers including Italian striker Alessandro Del Piero, who described Gallagher as Italy’s “lucky mascot” during the 2006 FIFA World Cup, and appears (below) signing a jersey for Noel in the Oasis video “Lord Don’t Slow Me Down“.

Noel Gallagher once received a surprise gift while appearing on Italian TV – a signed footie shirt from mega-fan Del Piero. The Juventus shirt, given to Noel and Liam featureed a personal message from Del Piero thanking them for their “inspiring” music. Del Piero even phoned into the show to talk about Oasis. When he was handed the shirt, Noel joked with the presenter that it would be going straight on eBay.

“hey there, any idea what sticker is on display here: I mean I can see its a Lennon sticker but I haven’t been able to find a better picture or possibly a sticker of that type to buy anywhere. can u help me out?”
Here’s what we can gather about it so far….The photo of John Lennon is from the May 19th 1967 record release party at manager Brian Epstein house in his home at 24 Chappel Street, London. The occasion was a promotional party attended by The Beatles to launch their new LP Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Here’s the photo…Don’t know where to find that exact sticker but with this photo it looks pretty easy to make.
