After a bit of research the box looks very similar to the cover of old Scotch Magnetic Tape.

The Strokes released their album “Comedown Machine” two weeks later on March 26, 2013 also via RCA Records.  They also decided to use an album cover resembling a box of old analog magnetic tape.

This one looks exactly like an old box of RCA Red Seal Recording Tape.

I guess the RCA Records art department wasn’t too creative that month.  Van Halen and The Commodores had a similar artwork issue…

The undated photo was taken sometime in 1969.  We all know pretty well that Jimbo liked to party and drink some beer but it’s apparent by these photos that he preferred Budweiser.  Check out some more photos of Jim enjoying a a nice cold “Bud“.

The Beatles and Stones were of course good friends but seeing Lennon in the shirt caught me off guard.  The photo was taken in 1973/1974 Los Angeles during Lennon’s “Lost Weekend” with then girlfriend May Pang.

For the life of me, I can’t find a photo of Lennon with his blazer open in order to clearly see the writing above the tongue logo.  My guess would be “RECEPTION”.  If anyone knows what that means in regards to The Rolling Stones please leave a comment and lets us know.

I became Paul Ramon, which I thought was suitablyexotic. I remember the Scottish girls saying, ‘Is that his real name? That’s great.’ It’s French, Ramon. Ra-mon, that’s how you pronounce it. Stuart became Stuart de Stael after the painter. George became Carl Harrison after Carl Perkins (our big idol, who had written Blue Suede Shoes). John was Long John. People have since said, ‘Ah, John didn’t change his name, that was very suave.’ Let me tell you: he was Long John. There was none of that ‘he didn’t change his name’: we all changed our names.”

This is one of the only Beatle autographs in which they signed their short-lived stage names Paul Ramon, Carl Harrison and Johnny Lennon.

In 1974, Douglas Colvin, John Cummings, Thomas Erdelyi met Jeffry Hyman in Queens New York and formed a band.  Colvin, inspired by McCartney’s pseudonym started calling himself Dee Dee Ramone.  Dee Dee then came up with the idea of naming the new band the Ramones and convinced the other members of the band to start using Ramone as their last name.  Cummings becoming Johnny Ramone, Erdelyi becoming Tommy Ramone and Hyman becoming Joey Ramone.  All future Ramones band members would follow suit as well.

In a 1995 interview Joey Ramone was asked where the band name came from:

In the days of the “Silver Beatles,” Paul McCartney would go to check into a hotel room, using the name Paul Ramone. Dee Dee was a big Paul McCartney fan, so he changed his name to Dee Dee Ramone. When I hooked up with Dee Dee, we decided to call the band the Ramones.

In 1969, during the break-up of The Beatles, Paul McCartney once again used the “Paul Ramon” moniker as a guest appearance on a Steve Miller Band single, My Dark Hour, released on June 16, 1969.  McCartney/Ramon recorded drums, bass guitar, backing vocals and guitar to the track.  Here is the special thanks album credit…

I was curious about what record is being packaged in front of Marley the photo.  After close inspection it is the Bob Marley & The Wailers 1979 album “Survival”.  So the photo was most likely taken in 1979 when “Survival” was released..  Here is a closer look at the back cover of the album that is shown on the table…

Now I just have to figure out who’s the guy in the photo and when and where the photo was taken.

Dave only used the “K” on the guitar for this performance but his mortal enemy and Kurt’s ex-wife Courtney Love  has a permanent “K” tattoo on her stomach.

In 1994, weeks after Kurt’s death Pearl Jam played on Saturday Night Live where Eddie Vedder saluted Kurt with a “K” on his shirt as well.

Flea finished the rain soaked 26.2 mile race in 03:52:00 (three hours and fifty three minutes).  Here’s his official certificate of completion from the marathon.

The following year, Flea once again ran the Los Angeles Marathon on March 18th, 2012 but this time he ran clear weather.  Here’s a photo of him crossing the finish line.

I’m sure the weather helped as he improved his time by 11 minutes to 03:41:49 (three hours and fifty three minutes).  Here’s his certificate of completion.

His Red Hot Chili Peppers band mate Anthony Kiedis didn’t run the marathon but here is a cool picture of him and Rick Rubin staying in shape and riding a bike on the beach…

A few years later Page remembered the joke and decided to remove the” A” in the word lead and Led Zeppelin was born.  Who would have guessed that one of the best Rock N’ Roll drummers of all time (Moon) was responsible for naming the band of another one of the best drummers of all time (John Bonham).

Here’s a photo of the two legends that should be hanging in the drummers Hall of Fame.  Bonham presenting Moon with a fake award on stage during a concert featuring Roy Harper and Friends at the Rainbow Theatre, London on February 14, 1974.

Moon also once joined Led Zeppelin live on stage at The Forum in Los Angeles California on June 23, 1977 during the song “Moby Dick” and the encores.

Sadly both drummers would die in the month of September at the age of 32.  Keith Moon passed away on September 7, 1978 while John Bonham passed away on September 28, 1980.

Seems that EVH wasn’t in the right frame of mind at the time of these decisions but he made no excuses for his decision to work in the adult industry.

Van Halen added two instrumental tracks, “Rise” and “Catherine” to the film.  The song “Catherine” was a remix to the theme song of a previous Ninn film of the same name.  EVH even appeared in “Sacred Sin” for the music video to the song “Rise” which was filmed at his home in Studio City.
