On September 25h, 1980 John Bonham died in an upstairs bedroom at The Old Mill House in Clewer, Windsor that was owned by Led Zeppelin bandmate Jimmy Page. Bonham was picked up by Led Zeppelin assistant Rex King to attend rehearsals at Bray Studios (below) for an upcoming North American tour, the band’s first since 1977, scheduled to commence on 17 October.

This legendary 1973 photo by Bob Gruen of Led Zeppelin standing in front of their own “Led Zeppelin Airplane” helped make the band bigger than life.
“Presence” is the seventh studio album by Led Zeppelin, released by Swan Song Records on March 31, 1976. The cover, inside sleeve and back of the album features various images of people with a black obelisk-shaped object.
Led Zeppelin released their fifth studio album “Houses of the Holy” on March 28, 1973. The album cover is a collage of several photographs taken at the Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland, by Aubrey Powell.

Count Ferdinand Adolf Heinrich August Graf von Zeppelin was a German general and later aircraft manufacturer, the founder of the Zeppelin Airship company. The rock group Led Zeppelin’s name came from this airship.
