The Beatles wanted to come up with a conclusion for their film “Let It Be.” They had talked about playing a concert on an ocean liner, an old flour mill or a Roman amphitheatre in North Africa. The Beatles “Abbey Road” Photo Shoot Alternate Shots

The Beatles “Abbey Road” album cover photograph was taken by photographer Iain Macmillan. On August 8, 1969 Macmillan was given only a ten minute window at about 11:30 AM to snap a photo of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr crossing the street at Abbey Road. That cover photograph has since become one of the most famous and most imitated album covers in recording history.
