The Koopalings were conceived in 1988 for Super Mario Bros. 3 by various game designers who were challenged to come up with new bosses. Most of the Koopalings have punk hairstyles and are named after musicians. Their names are Ludwig von Koopa, Lemmy Koopa, Roy Koopa, Iggy Koopa, Wendy O. Koopa, Morton Koopa Jr. and Larry Koopa.
U2 used this photograph taken by Hiroshi Sugimoto titled Border Sea for the cover of their 2009 album “No Line On The Horizon.” Bono stated that the photo inspired the album title and song.
Bono's doesn't play the guitar in concert too much but when he does he sometimes uses a green Gretsch "Irish Falcon" guitar with the phrase "The Goal Is Soul" printed on the pickguard in black text.
