How does a boy named Paul Hewson get a nickname like Bono??? The story sounds really stupid but it’s true. Hewson and his friends were part of a surrealist street gang called “Lypton Village”
“Boy” the debut album from U2, was released October 20, 1980. The “boy” on the cover was a kid who lived across the street in front of Bono’s house in Dublin named Peter Rowen.
The album sleeve for U2’s Achtung Baby album consists of 4×4 squared montage of 16 images by the band’s long-time photographer, Anton Corbijn, devised since the band couldn’t decide on a single image to use. One of which is a naked photo of Adam Clayton.
