Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins side-project “The Birds Of Satan” featuring bassist Wiley Hodgden and guitarist Mick Murphy will release their debut album on April 14, 2014.
Guesting on the album is non other than former Nirvana and Foo Fighters members Dave Grohl and Pat Smear. The Birds of Satan have been playing small gigs throughout Southern California for 10 plus years as a cover band by the name of Chevy Metal.
After finally coming up with some original material they had to decide on a new band name to release their original stuff, thats when Hawkins recalled a passage about Satan’s Birds he read in the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Anthony Kiedis biography “Scar Tissue”. Here is the paragraph…
The band logo also features the “Hawk” logo Hawkins has tattooed on his arm and used for his previous side-project Taylor Hawkins & The Coattail Riders.
