The 2014 Brit Awards were held at the O2 Arena on February 19, 2014. Noel Gallagher was the presenter of the British Solo Male Artist award that was won by David Bowie. Bowie who was not in attendance had his award collected by friend model Kate Moss.
Moss took vintage fashion to the next level by wearing one of Bowie’s actual Ziggy Stardust jumpsuits. Check it out…
Known as the “Woodland Creatures” aka “Rabbit Costume” it was designed by Japanese designer Kansai Yamamoto. Bowie first wore the jumpsuit on August 19, 1972 at the legendary Ziggy Stardust show at The Rainbow in North London.
Following an introduction from Noel Gallagher, who heaped praise upon David Bowie, Moss read out Bowie’s acceptance speech…
“Lovely. In Japanese myth, the rabbits on my old costume that Kate’s wearing actually live on the moon, Kate comes from Venus and I’m from Mars. So that’s nice!!
I’m completely delighted to have a BRIT for being the best male. But I am, aren’t I Kate?
I think it’s a great way to end the day.
Thank you very, very much.
Scotland please stay with us.”
Kate Moss actually did a whole photo shoot for Vogue recreating David Bowie (Ziggy Stardust) fashion. More on that story soon…
