Check out one of the only photos taken in 1991 of Nirvana and Kurt Cobain at Sound City Studios in Van Nuys, California recording the legendary “Nevermind” album.
In this photo, Dave Grohl is sitting at the famous Neve recording console while Cobain is smiling for the camera. Me being the seller of vintage t-shirt to stars via Lemon Rags, I quickly realized that Kurt is wearing a (now vintage) 1982 The Clash “Combat Rock” shirt.
Here’s the back of the shirt.
Cobain wasn’t just wearing a random shirt either, he put “Combat Rock” in his Top 50 albums of all-time list so it’s pretty kick ass to see him wear the shirt.
Nirvana also did a half ass cover of The Clash “Should I Stay Or Should I Go” with Cobain on drums and vocals at the Hollywood Rock Festival at Estádio do Morumbi, São Paulo, Brazil 1993. Click below for the audio of the cover.
