Paul McCartney’s Pseudonym Inspired The Ramones Band Name

From May 20 to May 28, 1960, The Silver Beetles (as they were called at the time) toured Scotland, backing a young musician named Johnny Gentle. As part of this tour, the whole band decided to give themselves pseudonyms. Dee Dee then came up with the idea of naming the new band the Ramones and convinced the other members of the band to start using Ramone as their last name.
